Who is Big Church? (bigchurch.com)

Big Church (www.bigchurch.com) claims to be one of the largest Christian dating sites on the Web, a fact we seriously doubt.* On their homepage, they quote Genesis 2:24: "A man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." They also have a Bible search feature with commentary to help you "develop a deeper understanding of scripture."

So, the people at Big Church must be Christians, right? Well, we're sad to say they are not. In fact, the folks at BigChurch.com are about as far from Christian as you can be. BigChurch.com is owned by Penthouse Media Group, the same people who publish Penthouse Magazine and pornographic videos, and who operate a number of pornographic/sex-related websites, including AdultFriendfinder.com (where people connect for sex), GayFriendfinder.com (where gay men can find relationships), OutPersonals.com (where gay men connect for sex), Cams.com (live web cam sex shows) and Alt.com (for all alternative lifestyles). Disgusted? So are we. It makes us righteously angry that the people at BigChurch are trying to appear Christian when, in fact, they are very far from it.

Update: They are now beginning to use other domain names. So far, we have found lutheranfriendfinder.com and friendsofthelord.com.

We've made some pretty strong accusations here, and at this point you should be asking two questions:

1. Can we prove it?
2. Who are we?

* BigChurch.com claims to have nearly 500,000 members, but if you do a search you'll see that most them have not been online in over a month. In other words, they're inactive accounts left in the database to inflate the numbers. Additionally, if you read the profiles, it is doubtful whether many of them are even Christians!
